IYC is green! Island Yachts is the only charter company in the Caribbean that offers solar panels on all our fleet vessels. Solar panels save greatly on engine running time which in turns saves diesel fuel! We use biodegradable toilet paper and cleansers. Here at IYC we are always searching for new ways to be friendly to our environment!

Established in 1977, Island Yachts is celebrating 35 years in the bareboat charter business. Island Yachts sole base of operation is in Red Hook, St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Island Yachts is a family run business, owned and operated by Skip and Andrea King, full time St. Thomas residents for over 35 years combined. We take pride in the unique niche we have established in the bareboat industry primarily guided by the quality of our boats, our personal attention and the ideal fleet location.

  Unequaled Attention to Detail

Unlike many other larger bareboat companies whose offices and owners are stateside, Skip and Andrea head a full staff of on island marine industry professionals. Our 800 number is a direct line to our Red Hook, St. Thomas office. This means that the same people who answer your initial inquiry will also be the same greeting you upon your arrival to board your yacht, allowing for a great deal of accountability for our product from the start. Our Red Hook location is at what we like to call "the front door" to one of the worlds best cruising areas. Pristine St. John, a US Virgin island that is 2/3rds national park is just a 30 minute sail from our dock, and we are just a one hour sail from the British Virgin Islands.

  Ideal Location

Our location in Red Hook also offers many fine support systems prior to your charter. Provisioning is available and reasonably priced at either of two fine grocery stores conveniently located across the street from our dock, or try Fine Food Afloat, our provisioning company who can meet all your needs. Also available are two banks, bakeries, delis, a pharmacy, a medical and dental center and many excellent restaurants.
